Everyone at St Wilfrid’s was delighted to welcome the Papal Nuncio to Great Britain, Archbishop Antonio Mennini, who visited the Centre alongside his Secretary, Monsignor Vincent Brady. To complete the auspicious group they were also privileged to have with them Bishop Ralph and the founder of St Wilfrid’s Centre, Monsignor William Kilgannon.
The Archbishop really enjoyed his visit and chatted freely with clients, enjoying a good laugh along the way. During a rendition of the ‘Greasy Chip Butty Song’ sung by the Centre’s Sheffield United contingent, his Excellency was given the words and enthusiastically joined in. However, just for the record, the Archbishop is a Roma supporter.

Archbishop Mennini is also pictured along with the other guests with staff, volunteers and clients at St Wilfrid’s Centre.
The Archbishop enjoyed tea and freshly made scones, baked by the clients, and left very much inspired by the work of St Wilfrid’s Centre.
