St Marie’s Cathedral ran a free family workshop on Easter candles.
The event was fully booked with over thirty people attending. During the session, families explored several aspects of St Marie’s heritage regarding Easter and the Passion of Christ through a fun and inspiring worksheet. In addition, they learnt about Easter Candles and designed one of their own.
The workshop was organised as part of St Marie’s Heritage Lottery Funded project and it was enjoyed thoroughly by children and adults alike. “It has been a fantastic workshop, very well organised and has given me nice inspiration for the future,” said one of the mums.
“It has definitely been one of the best family sessions we have had so far. Both parents and children had been really engaged and visibly enjoyed the event, which has been really rewarding. Also, it has been wonderful to see families from many different backgrounds visiting and learning about this fantastic Cathedral,” said Laura Claveria, Heritage Engagement and Learning Officer.
St Marie’s runs free family workshops during most school holidays. The next one will be on Saturday, 14 May at the Winter Garden (drop-in) and Wednesday, 1 June at St Marie’s Cathedral (pre-booked). For further information visit www.stmariecathedral.org.
